At the beginning of 2026, for the seventh consecutive year, Kranjska Gora in Slovenia hosted the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup races, part of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, on the renowned Podkoren slope. Although the event is no longer officially called the Golden Fox, with the last edition held two years ago, the tradition of world-class women’s skiing remains strong, bringing together the world’s top athletes and numerous international media teams.

What do all top-tier sporting events have in common? Seamless connectivity that allows news to travel around the world in real time. To ensure uninterrupted coverage of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup event, the organizers returned to ORG. TEND d. o. o., a trusted local technology partner, giving it the job to provide modern and reliable internet connectivity in the press tent.

The solution chosen was based on HPE Aruba Networking Wi-Fi 6E technology, delivered by the local HPE, operated by Selectium team, which supports partners with enterprise-grade networking solutions tailored to high-performance environments.

Wi-Fi 6E is key for high-demand events: “For journalists, fast, secure, and stable internet connectivity is essential. By using the latest Wi-Fi 6E technology, we ensured seamless access to race data, results, and multimedia content, while also providing optimal connectivity for remote work and journalists’ mobile devices” explained Aleš Polajnko, Director of ORG. TEND.

Key benefits of Wi-Fi 6E technology include:

  • Faster data transmission, even with a high number of simultaneous users
  • Enhanced security to protect sensitive information
  • Greater network capacity for multiple connected devices
