MDS Computers Technical Systems awarded prestigious Apple Authorised Enterprise Reseller status
MDS Computers Technical Systems (MDS CTS), part of MDS Computers UAE, has been awarded Apple’s highest partner status: Apple Authorised Enterprise Reseller (AAER), making them the only reseller in the MEA to be accredited to this status.
As an AAER, MDS CTS will have priority access to all of Apple’s innovative new products. This means they will receive inventory on new products before any other reseller, ensuring that their customers are among the first to own the newest releases from Apple. MDS CTS is now also in a position to offer the best rates on Apple devices in the UAE as compared to any competitor.
The appointment of MDS CTS as an AAER builds on an existing relationship between the two companies that has seen the former operate as an Apple Authorised System Integrator and Apple Authorized Solution Provider for the past five years. The AAER accreditation recognizes MDS’s investment in Apple-related solutions and service propositions, and recognition of standing as leaders in digital workplace transformation.
Achieving ‘Enterprise Reseller’ status required significant investments which included setting up an Apple Practice team, a dedicated help-desk support service, collaboration with industry-leading partners and launching of specialized services to be able to cater to Enterprises of all sizes.
As part of achieving and maintaining the AAER status, MDS CTS has launched new comprehensive solutions and services such as a Mac Employee Choice Program, MDSCare, MDSDeploy, MDSManage, and MDSDaaS, along with various thought-out affordability solutions like Trade-in, Lease and Framework agreements.
They have also launched various training programs, as well as mobility solutions for specific verticals in sync with tier one partners. All this will allow MDS CTS to provide Enterprises with full lifecycle management of Apple products and technologies.

Mindware inks Gulf region distribution agreement with Mitel
Mindware has announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Mitel®, a global leader in business communications. As per the agreement, Mindware will market, distribute and service the entire range of Mitel’s cloud and premises-based Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) solutions across the Gulf region. Mindware is a Midis Group company.
Mitel’s cloud, enterprise, and next-gen collaboration applications power more than two billion business connections globally. Mitel is the only brand recognized across the Gartner Magic Quadrants for Contact Centre, Unified Communications and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS).
Speaking about the partnership, Nicholas Argyrides, General Manager – Gulf at Mindware said, “business communications is the lifeline of any organization today, particularly these (challenging) days when an organization’s physical premises are typically not the preferred workplace for most of us. Recent research has shown that business professionals spend over half of each working day in communications activities. Needless to say, a company’s communications and collaboration practices and technology immensely affect its productivity. And this, in turn, impacts the organization’s bottom-line.”
“We have been looking forward to working with Mitel since such an all-around product range nicely rounds off our portfolio as we add top-class UCC to our offerings. With the current anemic trends in the market, productivity tools such as those offered by Mitel will inevitably become an integral part of organizations’ digital transformation plans.”
With Mitel looking to increase its footprint in the region, Mindware will provide its more than 2,000 Gulf partners access to the vendor’s solutions. The distributor will also actively seek to recruit new partners having strong capabilities in business software integration, unified communications, cloud computing, mobility, and virtualization. As part of the ramping-up process, Mitel will extend full support and conduct training and enablement sessions for the Mindware team. In addition, Mindware will set up a Mitel ‘demo lab’ to enable partners to ‘test drive’ the solutions and get an in-depth understanding of the product technicalities.
With Mindware betting heavily on the Cloud this year, they see a tremendous potential opportunity for the regional adoption of Mitel’s cloud communications offerings. The VAD will be soon be listing Mitel’s cloud solutions on its newly-launched cloud marketplace.
Feras Zeidan, Managing Director, Middle East and Africa at Mitel said, “Mitel MEA is honored to build another growth milestone pillar and sign a regional GCC distribution agreement with Mindware. I am convinced that our new partnership with Mindware will fulfill the partners’ voice, video, UC and CX projects profitably and into the cloud. While working with Mindware’s in-country teams on enablement, fulfillment and post-sales support, our partners and customers will get local value addition, better design services, middleware integration, training, and support. In partnering with a solid VAD like Mindware, technology partners will also gain faster fulfilments, fit-for-purpose solutions and roadmap entry into our software and services world.”
“The Mindware and Mitel partnership in the Middle East and Africa is extremely strategic in terms of executing our strategy for hospitality, healthcare, contact center, and SME/ mid-market. We are creating our go-to-market with Mindware, built around these segments to effectively communicate with partners. Channel enablement, training, and PoCs will be very instrumental in building strong channel landscape with Mindware for Mitel business,” concluded Asif Khan, Channel Director, Middle East and Africa at Mitel.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium invited to join new Digital Economy Committee in Croatia
On February 12, 2020, AmCham Croatia organized a member meeting in its Zagreb office with the aim of forming a new Digital Economy Committee. Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium was one of the Croatian IT Groups invited to participate in the Committee.
AmCham is short for the American Chamber of Commerce, but the AmCham movement is a world-wide one, and not just based in the USA. Digitalization of the Croatian economy, public administration, and society at large have been at the forefront of AmCham’s advocacy efforts.
The issue of digitalization has been discussed and covered to an extent through all of AmCham’s committees, which include e-Health, public procurement processes and introduction of card payments in civic offices, to name just a few.
AmCham members agreed to form a committee that would primarily focus on digital issues. Proposed policy challenges the committee agreed to consider include looking at the multi-annual financial framework of the European Union and considering opportunities for the countries’ ICT sector. It also will look at the digitalization/automatization of the Croatian economy, and discuss what Croatia needs to do to attract ICT investment.
This might include proposing a list of inducements the government needs to put in place to attract ICT investment. The committee will examine opportunities around data monetization, and making state-collected data available for commercial use. Computer science education in schools, and updating the curriculum in the educational system primary, secondary and higher education is also seen as an important theme for the new committee discussion.
“I am happy and honored to be invited to take part in this extremely valuable and praiseworthy initiative,” said Tajana Hasperger, HPE Pointnext Manager. “It is clear that now, more than ever, we must be able to transform the way we do business. IT companies have a responsibility to help society, and be their trusted advisor on their digital transformation journey.”
On February 27, 2020 AmCham’s Board of Governors formally approved the formation of the Digital Economy Committee and Hewlett Packard Enterprise operated by Selectium is proud to be one of its members.

“Through this significant investment, we are very pleased indeed to spur onwards the nation’s educational growth and open new doors for youth. This is a cause to which we at Midis have long been committed,” said Katia Harfouche of Midis Group.
State of the art workstations from Lenovo fill the space, which has a commanding view of the city

The Computer Center is part of a modern high tech facility
The Center has become one of the most visited labs in the School; no classes are offered there, meaning it is dedicated solely for each student’s personal academic use. The busy lab is accessible round the clock, 24/7, and it is the one location where students have access to all the software they require for their homework and projects.
Cabling for printers, scanners and a range of peripheral devices fill the space, as well as the workstations
The Center caters for students from all departments, and has all necessary engineering applications installed. It features 30 high-end Lenovo “Think-Station” workstations with the latest Windows 10 operating system, and it is equipped with a heavy-duty HP printer, two scanners and an overhead projector with a smart class system.
